The Style Post #5: 7 Day Challenge

After recently joining the fast paced world of Monday to Friday, I have learnt the importance of savouring those extra few minutes with your cosy duvet before you start the dreaded commute. However, those extra minutes mean I haven’t been leaving myself the chance to take time over my style. Cold, dark mornings mean I am usually looking up into my wardrobe with bleary eyes and goose pimpled legs and my main priority is to grab the comfiest clothes I can find the quickest. As a result, I find myself re-wearing very similar looks, because it’s quick and it’s easy – but it’s steered me into a bit of a rut. So last week I staged a style intervention and set myself a 7 day challenge inspired by a handy tip I read in an interview with, my major girl crush, Fearne Cotton (If you haven’t read my post on why I am head over heels in love with her you can check it out here). Fearne claimed that the main way she managed to keep her look so versatile and unique is to plan out her outfits the night before so she could quickly get ready in the mornings. So that was it, for 7 days I planned not only my outfits but my hair and make up looks the night before so that when my alarm went off at 6.30am I could stumble out of bed and straight into a company magazine inspired look (I hoped)…

I had so much fun doing this challenge and it has definitely pushed me to be a bit more creative with what I wear! If you want to do your own challenge then tweet me (@charlphilpotts) your links, I would love to see some other bloggers 7 days! In the mean time, I think I need to to stay away from New Look and Topshop, I clearly spend far too much time in there…
