A few weeks ago, you may remember I ran a competition to win a watering can sharing cocktail from new Birmingham restaurant The Botanist. Well today, I am going to take a closer look at what they have to offer on the food side of things as well as giving you a taste of what events they have coming over the rest of the summer.
To compliment their wide range of tasty and refreshing cocktails, The Botanist’s menu is made up of traditional British ‘pub grub’ style food with a bit of a fancy twist. Over the past few months I have managed to work my way through a good chunk of what they have to offer and the chicken and chorizo pie, avocado, bacon and Lancashire blue salad and cauliflower cheese pie are my firm favourites. If you fancy a starter the homemade scotch egg with piccalilli is hard to beat and if you just want something to snack on and share with friends then The Botanist deli board is perfect as you can mix and match any 4 items of your choice.
For dessert there are some sweet kebab options and a seriously delicious gooey chocolate fudge cake, or you could skip dessert all together and leave room for another round of cocktails.
If all of that isn’t enough to make you want to pay a visit, they have also recently launched their Botanist Quizzical Assembly, which is a pub quiz with a difference including hula hooping and guess the cocktail ingredient rounds. The first one was in June and the next is on the 27th September so keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook page to be the first to hear about it.
Have you paid a visit to The Botanist yet? What are your favourites from the menu?
