The Lifestyle Post #22: Making Memories

One of my favourite memories, playing with baby tiger cubs in Chang Mai!

As someone who works with social media and online shiz pretty much all day every day, I find it amazing what an incredible tool it can be to spread a message or raise awareness of something practically overnight. We all remember the ice bucket challenge and that is a great example of how social media can be used to not only spread awareness but also raise a whole load of cash for a really great cause.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the guys at Solopress who have launched a social media campaign called Making Memories where they are encouraging everyone to share one of their most special memories on twitter and for every person that uploads an image with the hashtag #alittlememory they will donate £1 to Little Havens Care, a charity that works to make special memories for children with life threatening illnesses. For me, getting involved in a campaign like this was a no brainer, every day I realise how lucky I am to wake up healthy and happy and it breaks my heart to think there are children who wake up in pain or uncomfortable – whatever your circumstances are in life you should be given the opportunity to make memories you can treasure.

So now it’s over to you, by uploading a picture of your favourite memory with the hashtag above, you could be helping a child at Little Havens Care create their new favourite memory and don’t forget to tag one of your friends to keep the chain going! – what are you waiting for?
