I don’t know if this means I am getting old, but lately I have been getting much more into interior design and my taste is starting to really change. I used to love loads of girly ornaments and over the years I have adorned my room with a fair few, but after being seriously inspired by Kate from Gh0stparties‘ incredible eye for interiors, I now prefer a much more minimalist and clean looking room (although it’s taking me a while to get there!)
One of my favourite trends at the minute is the use of copper accessories to break up a clean white space, but rather than spend my pennies on something new, I decided to spend a Saturday afternoon embracing my crafty side and sprucing up a globe that I had given to me by my paps a while ago.
I used the Humrol Acrylic Paint in Metallic Copper* and it worked like a dream. In three coats, the dark brown wood was completely covered and it dried almost instantly meaning I didn’t have to wait for the paint to dry in between coats. I absolutely love the finished product, and I only used a tiny bit of paint, so it was super cheap to do!
So if you too want to embrace the copper craze, then nip to Hobbycraft and get your hands on some of this (it’s super cheap at only £1.60 a pot!). Giving some of your much loved accessories a makeover is a great way to embrace the copper trend without having to spend a fortune, viola!
