On Friday of last week my best friend and I jumped on the train down to London for the Company Magazine VIP Christmas Party. Company is my favourite, favourite magazine, so I was really excited to attend the party and my first ever blogger event with my girl in tow.
The event was held in a really quirky warehouse space, just a short walk away from London Bridge tube and Company had decked the halls with sparkle, fairy lights and lots of christmassy accessories.
In one room there was a team of experts offering manicures, hair styling and makeovers (which Instagram tells me were being done by a make up artist who worked on One Direction’s Story of my life video!). In a second room was a selection of pieces from the New Look A/W collection, with party dresses and beautiful jewellery a plenty, and downstairs there was a combination of live music and DJ set – along with the statement photo booth which every event needs!
During the evening, there were a host of Malibu cocktails on offer and some delicious canapes doing the rounds (although we were busy being beautified and missed most of the canapes – rookie error!). We also got a goodie bag to take away with us with a whole combo of items including popcorn, books and some accessories from the New Look collection.
Charlotte (my best friend is also called Charlotte – confusing!) and I spent the evening taking full advantage of the treatments on offer and taking lots of pictures of our new make up and the setting of the event. We also had a good dance to the DJ set while we sipped on our favourite Mali-Cali cocktail.
I had a really great time at the event and got to speak to a few other bloggers including Kami from I am Kam, and since it was my first blogger event I also learnt a couple of handy tips for how to make the most of attending events like this in the future…
1) Although it was great to have my best friend with me, it meant that I didn’t get talking to as many people as I could have – we hadn’t seen in each other in ages so we used the night to do some much needed catching up, but in the future I will make sure I make a conscious effort to try and meet lots of new bloggers too!
2) I need to remember to take pictures of EVERYTHING. I did get a few good shots to include in the post but there were lots of things I didn’t get great shots of – no amount of pictures is too much!
Thank you to Company Magazine and New Look for a great night and for giving me the perfect excuse to buy my first Christmas party dress.
