Last week I was invited down to the Balcony Bar in Selfridges to hear all about the new Work It campaign. While we sipped some champagne, the Selfridges team told us all about Work It, which urges 9-5’ers to reclaim their lunch breaks and come down to Selfridges to enjoy some well deserved me time! For two weeks in May, Selfridges Birmingham will be putting on a whole host of events from 12-2pm, including complimentary beauty treatments, yoga sessions and life coaching classes. For those who can’t get away from their desks for lunch there will also be events taking place on evenings and weekends too including specialist talks on topics such as LinkedIn, CV workshops, sushi making demos and even a running club!
As someone who works in the centre of Birmingham quite often, I think this is a great way to encourage people to step away from the desk and break up the working day with something a little bit fun and different. And if you’re worried about having time for some grub, Selfridges have you covered, as they have teamed up with local street food experts Digbeth Dining Club to offer up some tasty treats to enjoy when you visit.
