In the past few months I have a SERIOUS thing for matte lipsticks, which was largely caused by sampling the Rimmel Apocalips range after seeing them raved about across the blogosphere. With that being said, when I heard Bourjois were releasing their own range of glossy to matte formula I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them and in a coincidental twist of fate it just so happened at the time they were released I found myself craving a new red shade to add to my collection – all resulting in a swift trip to boots to purchase the Rouge Edition Velvet in Hot Pepper.
I am in LOVE.
It glides on like a dream, leaves my lips feeling soft and supple and lasts for hours (put through the paces of a chocolate brownie, peppermint mocha and a peri peri coated Nandos meal). The applicator helps you get a neat finish with a slightly pointed end offering perfectish precision and even better, this postbox red is exactly the right shade to take you from day to night as the creamy formula means you can build up for a more intense finish without any dry patches or flakiness in sight.
Now since the Bourjois range comes in 8 different shades, I don’t think it will be long before I add another
one five to my lipstick drawer, I’ve got my eye on Ping Pong which I reckon would work like a dream with a tan. Now just the small matter of getting me one of those…St Tropez, I’m coming for ya’!
